Fernando R. Quintanilla, Jr., age 78, of San Antonio died at his home in San Antonio on Tuesday October 18, 2011. Fernando was born in Stockdale on December 7, 1932 to Fernando V. and Inez Rivas Quintanilla. He was a Construction Contractor and a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Yolanda Sandoval, a great granddaughter, Chloe Gemma, and three brothers, Florentino, Daniel, Rene Quintanilla. Survivors include, daughters, Rita Zavala, Sylvia Munn, Cynthia Salazar, Belinda Segovia, Yolanda Arredondo, Maria Flores, all of San Antonio; sons, John Quintanilla, Ernest Quintanilla, Armando Quintanilla, David Quintanilla, Patrick Quintanilla, all of San Antonio; 34 Grandchildren; 17 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild; brothers, Sam Quintanilla, Lorenzo Quintanilla, Frank Quintanilla, Rudy Quintanilla; sisters, Ella Trevino, Frances Guerra, Clara Rangel, Lucy Lerma, Mary Ann Trevino, Sylvia Quintanilla, Janie Villarreal; numerous, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Finch Chapel will open for visitation and viewing, Friday, October 21, 2011, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass, 1:00 PM Saturday, October 22, 2011 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church-Stockdale with Father Dennis Jarzombek as the celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Parish Cemetery, Stockdale. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the Guadalupe Valley Hospice or the charity of the donor’s choice.
