Eric Oliver Updike of Weesatche, TX peacefully passed from this earth on July 2, 2011. He was born June 19, 1950. He is survived by his wife Roberta B. Updike; his son Benjamin Nathan Updike of Tampa, FL; his sister Debe Holt of New Braunfels, TX; and uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Reuel and Alice Updike of Kingsville, TX. Eric served in the Coast Guard, worked as a pipe fitter and as a consultant in the oil refinery industry. Eric will be remembered most for his laughter and humor, his kindness to animals, and his passion for history which he shared with his best friend Walter Tracey.
