Marlene H. (Warncke) Young was born in Guadalupe County on the Warncke family farm on February 19, 1936. She passed away surrounded by her loving family on September 7, 2012 at the age of 76. Marlene was a very beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church of Elm Creek and was very active in the Bible study groups and the church cemetery committee. She was also a 40 year member of the Couples Bunco Club. Soon after graduating from Seguin High School, Marlene completed business school and worked in accounting positions over the years. Marlene and Wilbert worked together on their farm and would have celebrated their 59th anniversary this November. She was preceded in death by her parents Elton and Irma (Lenz) Warncke. Marlene was survived by her husband Wilbert Young; children: Lori Lee Young and Dana Sue Evans and husband Jim; grandson: Dakota James Bononcini; step-grandsons: Jeffrey and Jacob Bononcini; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 11th from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM with family receiving friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Finch Funeral Chapel. Service Wednesday, September 12, 2012 10AM Christ Lutheran Church of Elm Creek The Rev. Anne Kolmeier will officiate. Interment will follow at the Christ Lutheran of Elm Creek Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Christ Lutheran of Elm Creek Church or the Guadalupe Valley Hospice.
