Vashti Marie Vorpahl born February 17, 1953 was set free of her earthly bonds March 20, 2015. Vashti was preceded in death by her parents, Otto E. and Lucille (Allbritton) Vorpahl. She is survived by her life-mate, Jerry Salge; sister and best friend, Debbie Vorpahl and many, many dear friends. Vashti loved all animals, especially her Alibi and Marco Polo. She loved people and the beach. She had a wicked sense of humor and she said that she should have been an artist or a writer-she was both. A memorial will be held at Finch Funeral Chapel on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 10:00 AM. Vashti requested that donations be made to these organizations: The ARK in Port Aransas, Texas, Friends of Animals, The Animal Defense League, The Brighter Days Horse Rescue in Pipe Creek, Texas.
