Obituary for Vyron Freeman

Vyron Freeman
Vyron Freeman, age 93, was born to August and Neppie Freeman on May 22, 1922 in Smiley, Texas. He passed from this life on October 12, 2015 in Cooper, Texas.
Vyron was a provider for his family by working for the area farmers after the death of his father. He continued to help provide for the family while working for the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC) constructing a road for a national park in 1939-1940 near Portal Arizona.
Shortly thereafter, he was drafted into the army. Upon completion of initial training, he was assigned to the special corps of engineers based on his experience in the CCCs. He spent his enlisted time in Iran constructing airports. Vyron attained the rank of sergeant prior to his discharge. Once again, during his service to his country, he provided for his mother youngest sister, and future wife, Verna.
Vyron married Verna on April 25, 1946. He continued his long career in road construction across Texas. Vyron was a devoted husband to Verna and parent to Terry and Faye. After settling in Kerrville, Texas there were times that the work took him from his family, but he came home on weekends, regardless of distance. He continued to provide for, and love those, closest to him.
Vyron was preceded in death by his wife Verna Freeman; parents, August and Neppie Freeman; sisters, Murrel Ham, Alene Riley and Lanara Trapp; twin brother, Byron Freeman.
He is survived by his son, Terry Freeman and wife Sue (Greenville, Texas); daughter, Faye Freeman (Kerrville, Texas); sister, Joy Riley (Stockdale Texas); two grandchildren, Paul Freeman and wife Donna and Paula Duncan and husband Donnie; three great-grandchildren, Kacie Freeman, Morgan Freeman and Ashlie Freeman; great-great-granddaughter, McKenzie Rae Gray, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will take place Thursday, October 15, 2015, from 5pm to 8pm at Finch Funeral Chapel, Stockdale, Texas. A graveside Service will take place at 2pm on Friday, October 16, 2015 at the Wrightsboro Cemetery, FM 108 and CR 118 South, Gonzales County, Texas.
