Carl W. Ashley entered into eternal rest on December 24, 2015 at the age of 96. He was born on April 10, 1919 in Bethelridge, Kentucky to Terrel G. and Ola E. (Whitmer) Ashley. Carl honorably served in the United States Navy and is a veteran of World War II. He was an active member of the Seguin Elks Lodge, VFW, American Legion, Wilson Co. Hospital Board, Wilson Co. Appraisal Board, and the Republican Party. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy “Dottie” M. (Gross) Ashley; son, Bill Ashley; his parents; son-in-law, Eddy Bailey; brothers, Prentice Ashley, James Ashley, and Perry Ashley; and sister, Hulah Ashley. Carl is survived by his daughters, Nancy Snodgrass and husband Ronald of San Antonio and Suzanne Bailey of San Antonio; grandchildren, Ashley Carlson and husband Ben of San Antonio, Josh Snodgrass and wife Monica of San Antonio, Maya Snodgrass of San Antonio, and Deva Snodgrass of Austin; great-granddaughter, Julie Grace Carlson of San Antonio; sister, Eunice Pence of Danville, KY; sister-in-law, Lita Grey Ashley of Columbia, SC; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Finch Funeral Chapel- Stockdale.
