Wilma Cletty Thurmond, age 92, of Gonzales, passed away April 8, 2016 in Gonzales. She was born on February 18, 1924 in Coffeyville, Kansas. Wilma is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Myrtle (Pedwell) Neer; and son, Stephen Earl Thurmond. She is survived by her husband, J.L. Thurmond; granddaughters: Elaine Stephanie Schutter and husband David; and Pamela April Thompson and husband Jason; great grandchildren: April Rae Thompson, Kaylin Ann Thompson, and Dawson Tres Schutter; brothers: Charles Neer and Leroy Neer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2016 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon. The Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon, Texas. Burial will follow in the Caraway Cemetery near Nixon. Memorial contributions may be made to the Caraway Cemetery Association.
