Robert David Rakowitz of Adkins, Texas passed away on June 15, 2016 at the age of 64. He was born on July 24, 1951 in San Antonio, Texas to John A. Rakowitz and Julia Helen (Gorlaska) Rakowitz. On May 18, 2001 he married Roxanne Lee Grier in La Vernia, Texas. Robert was retired after 30+ years as a paramedic with the San Antonio Fire Dept. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Clifton Rakowitz; and sister, Caroline Rakowitz. He will be missed by his wife of fifteen years, Roxanne Grier; daughter, Amanda Brockman and husband Zach; granddaughter, Sloan Brockman; brothers, Ernest Rakowitz and wife Kim, Alfred Rakowitz and wife Germaine, and Raymond Rakowitz and wife Debra; sister, Margaret Strowd and husband Larry; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family; and his faithful canine companion, Rusty. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, June 24, 2016, 6:00pm, at Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia, Texas.
