Obituary for Janie C. Longoria (Chavez)

Juanita C. “Janie” Longoria, age 67 of Seguin, Texas entered eternal rest on June 22, 2016 while visiting family in West Texas. Janie was born on July 12, 1948 in Stockdale, Texas to Santos Chavez and Josephine (Morales) Chavez. On June 1, 1963, Janie married the love of her life, Pantaleon S. Longoria. He preceded her in death on May 28, 2015. She is also preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
Janie was an amazing mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a true matriarch, one full of tremendous wisdom and love, treating everyone like life-long friends and knowing no strangers. If you were blessed enough to have crossed her path, she was sure to leave her mark; her laughter was her trademark. Her legacy of generosity, especially with her time, love and energy, will live on through her family. We are all so blessed to have been chosen to be in her presence. We will miss you, Mom, and love you always.
Janie is survived by her loving children, Mary L. Hinojosa (Henry), Pete S. Longoria (Lisa), Martin Longoria (Debra), Isable Lara (Jacob), Sarah Resendez (Jessie), Josephine Longoria, Felicia Jeffery, and Amelia Blackwell (Frank); grandchildren, Ramiro Pantaleon Cadena, Juanita Gonzales (Michael), Isable Washburn (Charlie), Paula Garcia (Marco), Pantaleon Longoria, Martina Ruiz (David), Dolores Lopez (Javier), C.J. Longoria (Jeremy), Marissa Longoria, Jenobeva Hernandez, Alyssa White, Adrian Pantaleon Hernandez, Jeremias Pantaleon Longoria Hurley, Amanda Soto, Jimmy Garcia, Rene Resendez, and Samantha Resendez; 21 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 5:00pm-8:00pm with a reciting of the Rosary at 7:00pm, at Finch Funeral Chapel in Stockdale, Texas.

Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Father Kuriakose Ouseph will be the officiant of the Mass.
