Obituary for Mark J. Costanzi

Mark J. Costanzi
Mark John Costanzi, 49, passed away October 1, 2016 after a sudden illness. Born September 22, 1967 in San Antonio, Texas, he was a 1985 graduate of John Marshall High School. Among many of his activities and accomplishments, Mark played tennis, coached volleyball, and acted in theatre plus was an Officer of his Class & President of Future Business Leaders of America. One notable honor was when his intellect, personality, and passion for the theatre resulted in his selection to attend the American Actor Hugh O’Brian’s Youth State Leadership Seminar. Mark graduated #5 out of 752 in his Senior Class and was voted “Most Likely to Succeed”. He followed his love of acting and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications & Theatre from the University of Notre Dame (’89) and a Master of Fine Arts from DePaul University (’92), where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and Cum Laude respectively. Mark loved the stage and performed in many productions throughout his life but also wrote, directed and produced countless plays and musicals. In fact, his talents afforded him to work in theatre, television, and film while residing in Chicago, London, New York, and California. In 1997, Mark put down roots in Los Angeles. He obtained his realtor’s license in 2004 and was ranked one of the top 11% of agents in LA home sales. He had just received his Texas Real Estate license. Just last year Mark returned to Texas to be closer to family and friends where he lived in St. Hedwig with his beloved mother, Marcella (Marcy), with whom he had a very special bond. He was a funny, loving, kind, and extremely loyal friend as well as being the most non-judgmental person you could ever meet. Mark was an excellent chef that loved to host dinner parties, and his smile lit up the room. He was loved by so many and will be missed by those he met over the many facets of his life. Mark leaves behind his loving mother, Marcella Ramzinski; stepfather, Greg Ramzinski Sr.; father, Dr. John Costanzi; stepbrother, Gregory Ramzinski Jr. & family; his devoted Godmother, Barbara Kelly; many loving cousins in the Pennsylvania & New York/New Jersey area, as well as the people that loved and claimed him as part of their own family; and his beloved dogs, Max & Hannah. He was preceded in death by his stepbrother, Paul Ramzinski. Visitation will be Sunday, October 9, 2016, 6:00pm, at Finch Funeral Chapel, La Vernia, Texas; the Rosary will be recited at 7:00pm.
