Obituary for Jerry Elton Wyatt

Jerry Elton  Wyatt
Retired U.S. Air Force SMSgt., husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, & renowned fisherman Jerry Elton Wyatt, joined the Angels at his favorite fishing hole on April 23, 2017 at the age of 86, surrounded by family.

Jerry, Dad, Daddy, Opie, had a strong love for God, his country, family, fishing & hunting. After serving 27 years in the military, receiving many awards, medals, & the Bronze Star, he retired as an Air Traffic Controller Supervisor, then enjoyed a successful career in Real Estate.

Preceded in death by his parents, Pansy Wyatt, Luther Wyatt, stepmother, Vernon Wyatt, his brothers, Luther Jr. & James, & his son Randy. Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Vivian - his sister, Dixie - his children & their spouses Dan (Stacie), Sandy, & Andy (Cindy) - his grandchildren & their spouses, CleAnn (Jamie), Charlie (Preston), Corie (Josh), Clinton (Heather), Clayton (Kristen), Jacob, & Luke - his great grandchildren, Hadley, William, Bonnie, Rowdy, Aubrie, Mazie, Parker, Lane, Karlee, Holden, & Eli - his best friend Milton Friesenhahn - and numerous relatives & friends

The family expresses sincere gratitude & appreciation to all who gave him excellent care, time, & love through this journey - the nurses & care givers at Frank Tejeda Veterans Home & to the many friends & family who visited him.


Visitation will start at 6 pm, followed by a Rosary at 7pm, May 1, 2017 at Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia, Texas. The funeral will be held at 11am, May 2, 2017
at St Ann's Catholic Church in La Vernia, Texas, followed by the burial at Fort Sam Houston.


In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Ann's Catholic Church.
