Dennis Earl Jones, age 90, of Gonzales, passed away Monday, May 8, 2017. He was born February 9, 1927 in Dublin, Texas to Finis Archie Jones and Velma (Wooley) Jones. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He married June Lee Weatherly on November 10, 1946 in Turkey, Texas. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, June Jones; a son, Dennis W. Jones; and a grandson, Adrian Mendiola. He is survived by two daughters: Sharon K. Jones and Beverly J. Jones; his grandchildren: Anthony Dorado, Andrew Dorado, Jeremy Kintz, Jeffery Kintz; his great-grandchildren: Sydney Kintz, Merideth Dorado, Matthew Dorado, Troy Dorado, Marrisa Gidcomb, Kendall Gidcomb, Samantha Gidcomb, Kaelyn Kintz, Maddox Kintz, Josie Shaw, Milee Day, Lilly Kintz, Noah Kintz; siblings: Nelda Arnold, Lila Ramsey, Melvin Jones; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as other loving family and many friends.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 12, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Heights Baptist Church, 1330 N. College St., Gonzales, with the Rev. Clint Lowery officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service at the church on Friday from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. A Private Burial will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at 11:00 AM. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
