Obituary for Jimmie Kepler

Jimmie  Kepler
Jimmie Kepler, loving husband and father, passed from this life on 21 June 2017 in Dallas, Texas one day shy of his 90th birthday. He was born on 22 June 1927 in Jamestown, Ohio to Thomas Aaron Kepler and Gertrude Belle Potts. He was one of eleven children.

He married Joyce Irene May of Gonzales, Texas on 14 June 1952 in Seguin, Texas. This marriage was blessed with two sons, Jimmie Aaron Kepler and Michael Stayton Kepler.

He proudly served in the US Army and US Air Force including service in World War II in Germany and service in the Vietnam War in Vietnam. He made the military a career and retired from the US Air Force. Following the military, he worked for many years as an electrical engineer and on his farms in Bebe, Texas and Brownwood, Texas. He was a graduate of New Hampshire College with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. He was a Master Mason and Master of the 32 degree of the Scottish Rite.

His greatest joy was his sons, his family in Ohio and his wife’s Texas family in and around Gonzales, Texas which he considered as his own family. He and his wife spent many days in Bebe, Texas before failing health restricted their travels.
He is survived by his sons: Jimmie Aaron Kepler and wife Benita Breeding and their children Kristopher Aaron Kepler, Jason William Kepler and Sara Joy Andrewartha and husband Matt. His son Michael Stayton Kepler and wife Christine Chapman and their children: Sarah Denham and husband Steven, Lauren Federow and partner Peri Federow, Reba Mickey Crabtree and husband Eric, Christopher Stayton Kepler and Margaret Josie Kepler as well as six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his younger brother Carl Kepler and wife Sadie of Jamestown, Ohio as well as a large number of nephews and nieces who he dearly loved.

He was preceded in death by wife, Joyce Kepler in December 2014. His parents preceded him in death as did six brothers and three sisters. His brothers preceding him were Delmar Kepler, Losey Thomas Kepler, Herman Kepler, Forest Kepler, Norman Kepler and Thurl Kepler. His sisters that preceded him were Mammie Kepler Hodge, Bernadine Kepler Edwards and Mildred Kepler.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Finch Funeral Chapel LLC of Nixon, Texas with burial to be in Floyds Chapel Cemetery near Wrightsboro, Texas on Wednesday 28 June 2017.
