Elmer L. Flowers, Jr., age 88, of Stockdale, passed away July 12, 2017 in Live Oak, Texas. He was born in Karnes County, Texas on April 17, 1929. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Jackson Flowers and Eva Mae (Kelly) Flowers; his wife, Doris (Stasny) Flowers; a daughter, Mary Alice Grimes; and sons: James Alton Flowers, Sr. and Infants Curtis Ray and Elmer Flowers, Jr.; his brothers: Nathan, Wilburn, T.K., Jack and Edwin Flowers; and two sisters: Eloise Swindell and Georgie O’Neal. Elmer is survived by his children: Dawn Poe, Bonnie Flowers, and Elmer Flowers, Jr.; a sister, Pearl Silvers; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; as well as other loving family and many friends.

The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 15, 2017, 11:00 AM at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Michael Cowey will officiate with interment following in the Nixon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
