Obituary for Mark C. Embrey

Mark Curtis Embrey passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2017, at the age of 61. He was born November 26, 1955 in San Antonio, Texas, to Will Teller and Bonnie Ruth Hamill Embrey.

He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved coon hunting with his hounds, deer hunting in South Texas, New Mexico and Colorado, competing in dirt bike enduros, deep sea fishing and going to the beach at Port Aransas, boating on the lake, family vacations in the motorhome, and traveling around the world. Mark was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan. Most of all, he loved being a cattle rancher. He loved the land, his cattle, and spending time in his tractor.

He is survived by Cheryl Embrey, his loving wife of 42 years; his son, Matthew Embrey; his daughter, Christy Ritchey and husband Brian Ritchey; his grandsons, Braden Ritchey and Randall Ritchey to whom he was known as “Grandpa Man”. His loving and caring mother and father-in-law, Alton and Pat Kuykendall; his mother, Bonnie Embrey, his sisters, Jayne Embrey and Keli Embrey; his sister-in-law, Pam Pettijohn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Elder Alton Kuykendall will officiate with interment following in the Union Valley Cemetery.
