Melzora Rawls, age 89, of Brownwood, passed away January 29, 2018 in Nixon. She was born in Sycamore, Arkansas on February 1, 1928, to Benjamin Franklin Horton and Dessie Jane (Avey) Horton. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilburn Glenn Rawls; a son, Glenn Randall Rawls; and her siblings: Andrew, Arizona, Rufus and Lucille. Melzora is survived by her children: Dwight Glenn Rawls and wife Donna, and Belinda McDonald; grandchildren: Matthew Glenn Rawls and wife Denae, Myrriah Kristen Pierson and husband Dave, John Angus McDonald, Judd Waylon McDonald; great-grandchildren: Izabella Janae King, Abigail Kathren Rawls, John Angus McDonald III, Jessie McDonald, Kylie Nicole McDonald, Kyndall Harlee McDonald, Kaylee McDonald; great-great-grandchildren: John Angus McDonald IV and Brently Reed McDonald; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as other loving family and many friends.

A Visitation will be held Thursday, February 1, 2018, from 6PM-7PM at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon. A Graveside Funeral Service will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018, at 10:00 AM at Greenleaf Cemetery, 2615 US-377, Brownwood, TX 76801. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
