Obituary for Wade H. Rutland

Wade H.  Rutland
Wade H. Rutland, of Stockdale, passed away May 23, 2018 in Stockdale, at the age of 97. He was born in Bend, Texas on September 14, 1920 to Cecil Roy and Lena Glenora (Cate) Rutland. Wade proudly served his country during WWII in the United States Coast Guard. He was a volunteer firefighter in the Stockdale VFD and a Charter Member of the Stockdale EMS. Wade is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betti Louise (Harris) Rutland; brother-in-law, Lloyd Harris (Frances), sisters-in-law Faye Arnold (Bob), Virginia Shelton and Imogene Rutland; nephew, Bob McClellan and “adopted parents” Audie and Dora Stadler. He is survived by his children, Babs McGuffin (Clint), Rick Rutland (Pat), Becky Stewart (Jim), and Trudy Eismann (Lee); grandchildren, Misty McGuffin, Kelsey Scheel (Jacob), Rhea Rutland, Ryan Rutland and Lacey Stewart; great-grandchild, Kinslyn Scheel; brother, Wayne Rutland (Jo); brother-in-law, Jim Shelton; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. A visitation will be held Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 5:30pm to 8pm at the Stockdale Church of Christ, Stockdale.

Mr. Kenneth Clapp will officiate at the service. Interment with military honors will follow in the Stockdale Cemetery.
