Eloise Elizabeth Estes, age 70, of Smiley, passed away June 5, 2018 in Gonzales. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on January 5, 1948, to Manuel and Eloise (Hernandez) Garcia. Eloise formerly worked as the Secretary for the City of Smiley for twelve years and had been a journalist for the past seven years. Her weekly article “Love, Eloise” was published weekly in the Gonzales Inquirer.

Eloise is survived by her husband since February 14, 1993, Eric Davidson Estes; two sons: Michael Cancio and Matthew Cancio and wife Ofelia; and her sister, Doris Caruso.
