Melvin Allen "Sonny"  Howes
Melvin Allen “Sonny” Howes entered eternal rest on July 21, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 88. He was born on March 24, 1930 in Martinez, Texas to Marcus Lindsey and Della (Drzymalla) Howes. Melvin was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice (Grams) Howes; son, Glenn Howes; and his parents. Sonny is survived by his loving children, Janet “Gail” McQueen and husband John, Stephen Howes and wife Dana, Karen Moczygemba and husband Ira, Brian Howes and wife Cindy, and Jonathan Howes and wife Diane; grandchildren, Eric McQueen and wife Chesney, Stephanie Krueger and husband Gavin, Julie Reznik and husband John, Matthew Moczygemba and wife Vanessa, Morgan Howes, Blaine Moczygemba, Lauren Hudek and husband Ryan, Sarah Howes, and Katie Howes; great-grandchildren, Sutton, Truitt, Landry, Rhyder, Landon, June, Jase, and Jake; brother, Johnny Howes and wife Iris; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Finch Funeral Chapel- La Vernia and the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening at the funeral home.

Annunciation of the BVM Catholic Church
St. Hedwig, Texas

Father Bill Zadora will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Annunciation of the BVM Catholic Cemetery in St. Hedwig. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lone Oak Volunteer Fire Department, 5885 Mt. Olive Rd., Adkins, TX 78101.
