Elmer August Nickel, age 91 of St. Hedwig, entered into rest on October 2, 2014. He was born on May 15, 1923 in San Antonio, Texas to Louis Charles and Katherine Theresa (Rheinhard) Nickel. Elmer is preceded in death by his parents; wife Viola Nickel and infant brother, Sonny. He is survived by his son, Michael Nickel and wife Halla; grandchildren, John Klein (Nicole), Christian Nickel (Jackie), Jordan Pedrotti (Michael); great grandchildren, Charlie and Addison; and many loving friends. Visitation will take place Sunday, October 5, 2014 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Finch Funeral Chapel-La Vernia. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 10:00am at Reedemer United Church of Christ in Zuehl, Texas. The Rev. Gerry Metzger will officiate. Interment will follow at Zuehl Cemetery.
