Rest in peace, sweet angel.

My freshman year, I took Art 1 with Kelly. We were the 7th period class, and sat together most of the year- if I remember correctly, our table usually consisted of myself, Kelly, Kelsea, Ariana, Joel, Josh, and Caroline. Every day I dreaded but also looked forward to that class. Our group was funny and kind, and never failed to brighten my day. I remember all of us would playfully pick on Kell... If someone knocked something over, or dropped something, or got a bad grade, or there was just a lull in the conversation, we would say, “Gosh, Kelly!” and we would all laugh, and she would laugh with us and shake her head. She was always such a good sport about it, and seeing her smile did my heart good. We all talked and laughed together, and on an almost daily basis, Kelly would put an earbud in to listen to music while she worked. Usually, it was just loud enough that we could tell who it was, and it never failed that it was Justin Bieber. I remember that, a few times, someone would comment that he was horrible or that they didn't understand how she liked his music, but she never stopped playing his stuff in class. In a world where so many people try to fit this description of the “perfect” person even if it means denying things that make them who they are, it was always so refreshing and inspiring to me that Kelly never changed or hid who she was for anybody in that room, and I think it says a lot about who she was as a person. She was unique, brave, and beautiful, and she will be deeply loved and missed.
