Obituary for Maria P. Flores (Perez)

Maria P. Flores, age 89, formerly of Smiley, passed away January 27, 2016 in San Marcos. She was born on October 4, 1926 in Smiley, Texas. Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Martin Perez Sr. and Margarita (Arredondo) Perez; her husband, Marcelo D. Flores Sr.; and her siblings: Manuel Perez, Santos Perez, Eloisa Almaguer, Angie De La Rosa, and an infant sister, Angelita Perez. She is survived by her children: Mary Lou Villasana and Eusebio Castillo; Connie Gunnoe and husband Andrew; Janie Villa and husband Lupe; Gloria Flores; Jo Ann Medina and husband Carlos; Marcelo Flores Jr. and wife Nelly; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brothers: Anastacio Perez Sr. and Martin Perez Jr.; sisters: Pauline Welch, Antonia Reyes, Gloria Riojas, Janie Andrada, Julia Prebe, Esmeralda LaBlanc; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.

A Visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 28th from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon with a Prayer Service at 6:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be held Friday, Jan. 29th at 11:00 am at Finch Chapel with Pastor Roberto Salinas officiating. Interment will follow at the Burriola Cemetery near Smiley. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
