Catherine Howard Finch, age 92, passed away January 29, 2016 at her home in Smiley. She was born on April 29, 1923 in Marietta, Oklahoma, to the late Felix Andrew and Willie Dell (Sowell) Howard. She married Barney Finch on June 22, 1968 in Smiley. He preceded her in death on March 4, 1975. Also preceding her in death was her brother, John Matt Howard. Catherine is survived by her step-children: Jo Ann Markowsky and husband Carol “Babe” of Mound Creek; Don R. Finch and wife Gladyne of Nixon; Gary P. Finch and wife Paulette of Smiley; sister-in-law, Dorothy Dell Howard of Denton; nephew, Bruce Howard and wife Nancy, of Brownsbury, Indiana; niece, Sheila Helm of Denton; 7 step-grandchildren, 9 step-great-grandchildren, 1 step-great-great-grandchild, 3 great-nieces, 3 great-nephews, 3 great-great-nieces, her cousins from Tennessee and many friends.

A Visitation will be held Sunday, January 31st from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon. The Funeral Service will be held Monday, February 1st at 11:00 am at Smiley United Methodist Church with Bruce Howard officiating. Interment will follow at the Bundick Masonic Cemetery in Smiley. Memorial contributions may be made to the Smiley United Methodist Church or the charity of one’s choice.
