Junior and Jewel to the rescue

Several years ago we were drag racing at Marion,Tx at the San Antonio Dragstrip and it had been raining all week and the pits were a muddy mess. We were staying at the track in our motorhome with a 32 ft trailer on it. Over all about 83ft long and weighed about 60,000 lbs, to say the least we were stuck in the mud. We had inquired with some towing services at the track who would not attempt to pull us out, people were stuck all over the pits, it was a mess. Dwight Koepp said ,let me give Junior a call , we have a wrecker,I can' t remember the last time we used it but  Junior likes to play with it anyway. Just a little while later we look
towards the gate and here comes Junior and Jewel in thier 1970 model 1-ton wrecker with Jewel riding shotgun with her book to read while all of the excitement took place. Junior looked over our situation put on his leather gloves and started dragging out winch cable. He told me to hook that up to my motorhome hitch and he thought he could get that out.  Junior started tugging, there was popping and groaning of all sorts coming from the wrecker and the motorhome, with the front end of the wrecker in the air , and being dragged backwards to the motorhome, there sat Jewel, reading her book and not nervous about the danger she might be in. I think she had done this before. Finally Junior decided we may need the outriggers down to get this truck out.  Well it worked ,he got us out of the mud. It may have torn up the asphalt a little, or maybe a lot,but we were out of the mud. And I believe Junior had a blast pulling that truck out of the mud.
