Denis J. Goertz, age 89, of St. Hedwig, Texas went to be with the Lord on June 30, 2016. Denis was born on December 16, 1926 in Bastrop County, Texas to Herman P. Goertz and Mary M. (Hoffman) Goertz. He served in the armed forces as a United States Marine. On October 12, 1948 he married the love of his life, Janell A. Goertz. Denis is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leon Goertz; sisters, Celestine Matocha and Geneva Klaus. His memory will be cherished by his wife of 67 years, Janell Goertz; children, Linelle Schnuriger (Francis), Kathleen Goertz, Brother Harvey Goertz, Robert Goertz, Beverly Bentley, and Bruce Goertz (Wendy); grandchildren, Melanie and James Schnuriger, Justin and Zachary Goertz, and Cody Gleason; great-grandchildren, Lilly and Lucy Schnuriger, Gabrielle, Channing and Bellamy Goertz; brother, Anton Goertz (Jane); sisters, La Verne Till, and Mary Ann Till (Alfred). Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2016, from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia, Texas. The Rosary is to be recited at 7:00pm.

Interment will follow at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Cemetery in St. Hedwig. Father Bill Zadora will be officiant of the services.
